The appliqué method
Appliqué is my signature, and the more refined form of embroidery. The machine stitches your letter shapes down in fabric; I hand-cut each one free with small scissors; then the machine finishes every edge in a raised satin stitch. The result has real dimension — a monogram you can feel.
Fabric & fabrication
The body is Michael Miller Cotton Couture — a smooth, substantial quilting-weight cotton. Quick Ship shams are ivory blanks. For a Custom order you choose the body fabric and welting from all 230 Cotton Couture solids.
Finished with a piped welt edge and a back envelope closure. Insert not included.
Thread
I stitch with Madeira, Isacord, Sulky, and Exquisite threads, and match colour to fabric by eye rather than from a screen. The swatches in the previewer are a guide; your proof shows the exact thread I'll use.
Care
- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, inside a pillowcase or mesh bag.
- Tumble dry low or lay flat; remove promptly.
- Press on the reverse; avoid ironing directly over the satin stitch.
Care details are placeholders pending confirmation.

Everything here writes to a work order I read at the table. Nothing is stitched until you approve the proof it produces.

The promise
Nothing is stitched until you've seen it.
Because your sham is personalized, all sales are final — so I make sure it's right first. You'll approve a stitched-layout proof of your exact monogram, thread, and placement before I sew a single stitch.
